Infinite Sea of Possibilities Hypnotic Key

People the world over are in a habit of throwing coins into a fountain and making a wish.  It's a very curious practice that is similar to deep state hypnosis.  Within a very deep state of relaxation where theta brainwave activity is detected.  Any suggestion at this level will take root and be translated into action.  The subconscious will do everything possible to manifest that suggestion at that level.

Even Indian mystics knew this process as we can see in Pantanjali's Asphorisms:

1. Dharana is the mind's (Chitta's) fixation on a particular point in space.
2. In that (Dharana) the continuous flow of similar mental modifications is called Dhyana or meditation.
3. When the object of meditation only shines forth in the mind, as though devoid of the thought of even the self (who is meditating), then that State is called Samadhi or concentration.
4. The three together on the same object is called Samyama.
5. By mastering that (Samyama), the light of knowledge (Prajna) dawns.
6. It (Samyama) is to be applied to the stages (of practice).
7. These three are more intimate practices than the previously mentioned ones.

If we strip away the flowery language it breaks down to:

1.  We introduce a single thought such as: Love.
2.  We allow that thought to sink into the silence of our deep hypnosis say for 30 seconds.
3.  That absorbed thought (much like a sponge absorbs water) will manifest into form or action.
4.  This is known as Samyama (which means: holding together, tying up, binding).
5.  The "light" of knowledge is the experience of absorbing a thought into that deep silence of theta level hypnosis and having it manifest into form or action.
6 & 7.  Most perform loosely defined goal meditation.  Whereas the process of deep theta level hypnosis working with the thought: Love, targets the subconscious to experience Love.  Anything that the subconscious experiences will bubble to the surface of the conscious mind.

Think of the possibilities of this Hypnotic Key.  It's much like Time-line Hypnosis on steroids.

The practice is very simple!  You can do it the first thing in the morning as you're waking from deep rest.  Or you can do it after using the 1st and 2nd Hypnotic Key contained in my free eBook listed below.

Introduce the following thoughts with what feels like 30 second pauses as you let the thought sink into the silence of your rest:

Love,
Radience,
Unity,
Health
Strength,
Abundance,
Wisdom,
Inner sensuality,
Compare the body to ether with the lightness of a cotton fiber,
Boundless Joy.

So, you've just awoke.  Let the thought: Love.  And now let it sink into the silence and rest you've just experience all night.  Repeat Love again and let it sink.
Now, move onto the next word:  Radience.  Let it sink.  Do each word twice with what feels like a 30 second interval between the words.

Do this practice of Fixation, Concentration and Absorption for 30 days.  You'll notice a profound and deep change in your life.  Your life will never be the same again!

If you'd like more hypnotic keys to practice.  Feel free to download my free eBook of Hypnotic Keys - Your life will never be the same again!

Once you know how to steer your ship, you'll probably run into fewer rocks!

Love and blessings,

You're a Being doing something while you're here on earth. Not the other way around.

Sometimes people become confused in what they do and their being.  We've all seen those that, after a long career they retire and seem to quickly age overnight and waste away in regret.  Recounting their past glories to anyone who'll listen.
"Doing-ness" and "Being-ness" are two vastly different things!

Recently a young women troubled by what she will do for a living once she graduates from college, asked me, what I thought she should focus upon?  I told her: Doing-ness and Being-ness are two parts of the answer.
What you will "do" will depend on what you're passions are and what the muse of your creativity leads you to.  You're "Being-ness" is a completely different matter!
You'll need to reach that silent part of you everyday to understand your "Being-ness!"  It's the very reason you came to this life!  You're a Being doing something while you're here on earth.  Not the other way around.

There are six challenges we'll face in life:

1.  The beliefs of our identity,
2.  Collecting the interpretations in regard to our beliefs,
3.  Causality of our beliefs,
4.  Sensory pains,
5.  Anticipated pains,
6.  Projected pain.

The first three challenges will help us deal with the last three.  Our being will be exposed in a crucible of reactions from others in the midst of their six challenges as well.  How well we deal in this crucible will determine the development of our emotional foundation and primal urge/attractors.  It will also determine the clarity of our introspection from our synchronous and asynchronous internal perspectives.

Just like the Irishman in Braveheart said: "Fine speech, now what?"

Like stated above, we need a practice of self-hypnosis to reach that silent part within us each and everyday.  To explore our being every moment if possible.  To become mindful of our mind full of doing-ness.  Why should we explore our being while alive?  Because it contains a complete set of instructions on how to deal with this life and it also contains all we'll ever need to deal with life's challenges!

Here's an easy method to get you started which will help you continually relax and remain in contact with the silence of your being during your busy day of doing-ness:

Become aware of the tip of your nose.  Now become aware of air coming in and going out.  Allow your breathing to become very gentle yet full.  And that's it!  Inhale gently and full.  Exhale gentle and full.  You'll be very surprised how it affects your day!  How you breathe will determine how you react to others.  And, how they react to you!

This is just a very small part of Anodynic Hypnosis.  If you'd like to experience having your socks blown off and really diving deep, check out my free eBook (no strings attached) at:   http://www.scribd.com/doc/37593778/The-Hypnotic-Keys-You-Will-Never-Be-the-Same-Again

Return to Awareness...

Within the awareness each being possesses, is the life spark.

When life manifest, it first manifest as awareness, then energy, then finally form.

Whenever we need to do something, we return to a still silent state for a moment to access our inner awareness, and thereby access our life spark's empowering nature.

Without access to our awareness, we are only reacting in an impulsive manner.  When a group reacts in an impulsive manner, it's no more than a mob.  When mob's react in an impulsive manner, it causes national and international chaos.

The only way to mitigate chaos, is to provide simple methods to return to a state of stillness. To access our private awareness within.  And doing so, remember what makes us human by the experience of our life spark.

When humans experience their life spark, they immediately understand that spark is eternal.  It is The Source itself.  It creates, sustains, changes, transcends and is innocent simultaneously within us.

We spend most of our life looking for something outside ourselves to reflect the source within ourselves.  Until we make contact with our source within, we'll never find that experience outside ourselves.  Once we make contact with that source within ourselves, then everything outside ourselves becomes a clear reflection of that source experience within us.  As above, so below.

Habits seem almost impossible to break or even change just a little bit.  The habit of living moment by moment, day by day, year by year in worry, pain and fear becomes almost addictive in it's visceral experience.  Some even brag as though it's normal, about how angry they can become.  How enraged they can display.  Power, fame, sex, sleep, hunger, aggression, flight and wealth.  All these are primal motivations that urge us to react.  Instead of tempering our decisions by bringing those urges before our own source, we just react and pay the consequences for those actions.

We have so many resources within ourselves to draw upon to make this world better.  It only takes a few moments of your day to access those resources within yourself.

I've provided the first set of instructions in my free eBook - The Hypnotic Keys - You will never be the same again!  Which you can download from scribd at:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/37593778/The-Hypnotic-Keys-You-Will-Never-Be-the-Same-Again

It's my contribution to making this world a better place to live in.

See you in the Light,

Michael

Astounding...

Within each of us are all the keys we'll ever need to fulfill our destiny!  It's easy to think that you don't have a destiny, when you've forgotten where your keys are to turn the lock, and open your path.  These keys aren't something arcane.  They're simplicity itself.  Some of us go our entire life wondering why?  Why did we come here?  To have kids?  To be just a biological component to sustain a species?  No!
There's more!  So much more that you and I came here for!  But like anything in nature, you'll need energy to fulfill your destiny.  A huge amount of energy!  And that huge amount of energy that is just right for you to complete your Heroes journey, has always been available to you!
There have been a plethora of methods to "improve" your life but, without supercharging yourself, you won't get off the ground.  You'll be stuck in neutral.

That energy that pervades the entire multi-verse is within you.  Every system of your body is driven by that energy.  Every molecule, every cell, every atom is completely driven by that energy.  That energy is your Source of energy.  It is eternal, serene and complete.  It connects each and everyone one of us to each other as we are connect to every particle in the multi-verse.

Everyday I see people traveling the highways and trains lost in their fears, worries, anxieties and depression.  They play the same movie of the mind over and over again.  Building up such pain for themselves.  There are three types of pain that we experience.  The first is sensory pain.  You cut or bump yourself and your senses tell you something is wrong.  Some part of your body is experiencing pain.  The next form of pain is called: Manifested Effect.  A little kid bumps her head and then looks around to see what reaction she'll get.  If the adults run and console her, she'll put on a show of how bad it really is.  If no one is around to console her, she'll rub her head and keep on playing.
And the final form of pain is known as: Cognitive Projected Pain.  This form occurs from our Theater-of-the-Mind playing a What-if over and over again.  What-if this happens or what-if that happens and if that happens then what-if this other thing happens?  You know the inner dialog.  It's one of our favorite scripts!  We run it over and over again right before we go to sleep.  And then sleep doesn't occur!  We just lay there!  Rehearsing those what-if lines!  And you know what?  It doesn't change a darn thing doing that!  It just revs you up to fever pitch doesn't it?

I've had clients tell me, they would love just one day where they didn't have to worry about anything or be afraid or panic'd about anything.  So instead they eat themselves, smoke themselves, drug themselves and drink themselves to death literally!  Some resort to anger to fight back the fear and go from one fear reaction of anger to another.  Caught in a hell of their own making and sustaining.

We came here for so much more than just worrying about things!  To be constantly afraid or in a state of panic wears down anybody no matter how tough they think they are!

That's why I did something about it!  I took the first 5 Hypnotic Keys of 108 Keys and provided them to the public for free.  My Keys are a consolidation of 40 years of hypnosis practice of the most powerful and effective methods.  You don't have to believe anything just as you don't have to believe in cars to drive one.
All I ask is: if you like these methods that you pass them onto others that may benefit from them.

Anodynic Hypnotic Inductions - Entrance others with just four little words!

Hypnotic inductions are where the rubber meets the road in hypnosis! Induction is the process of bringing the four components of hypnosis together in such a fashion, that you become part of the feedback of sensory information that the subject is feeding themselves.
The four little words are the components themselves: Subject, Conduit, Attitude and Suggestion. Now, I don't mean that you say these words to the subject! But understand what these three words mean in your hypnotic entrancement!
As I've stated in the previous blog entries, by understanding the sensory language dominance the subject is speaking to themselves in. And selecting the right method from the massive amount of amount of Conduits/Inductive Methods. As well as having the right attitude and suggestion composed from the subject's process of "How's," will easily induce one to enter a deep state of trance.
If you haven't read my previous blog entries on these components, I suggest you go back and plow through them.

For the rest of you who have read through, Attitude is something I haven't spoken in detail. There is a large body of hypnotist that mechanically know how to induce someone and themselves into trance. However, they are plagued with abreactions and "Pop-outs!" A Pop-out is just as it sounds. The subject pops out of trance and has a reaction/abreaction that you the therapist, didn't expect or want! There's nothing more frustrating to a mechanical styled hypnotherapist; than to have a pop-out occur in front of the rest of the family or professional setting.!
So, how do we develop the "right" attitude as a hypnotist and/or hypnotherapist? Attitude comes from drinking the Kool-aid you're using on your clientele! As well as the understanding that everyone! And I mean everyone! Is in some level of entrainment 24/7-365! Just understanding that everyone is entrained on something at some level will carry you quite far! However, even only with that understanding, you'll have a higher percentage of pop-outs that those that actually practice their craft!
Practice taking each and every emotion you have as a reaction to some activator. And, breaking that emotional reaction down into a series of steps. Of hows! Remember the belief you have that is associated with that activator as well! You can become very lost just examining the hows!
Let's say it's being cut off in traffic! Most of you can relate to this! You believe that you should be able to continue in your lane without being interrupted abruptly! Now, break down the steps you go through from when the cut off occurs. To when that driver is no longer affecting your emotions. How are you breathing? What does you face look like? How are you holding yourself posture-wise? What are you feeling?
Once you have all that catalogued. And make sure that you take several incidents ranging in intensity just to make sure you have a good cross section! Examine your beliefs as you go through your how steps. What are the consequences at the end of the emotional reaction? What would you change?
Good! Now you have your hows to build your suggestion of what you will change. Let's select say..., reframing method. That's where you see the movie in your head of the cut-off, the emotional reaction and the unsuccessful consequence. Next, we construct the same movie in our head except one with a successful positive consequence. Simply let the unsuccessful movie be overrun with the successful one! Some people explode the unsuccessful with the successful. Or they interrupt it like a loud blasting advertisement right in the middle of the unsuccessful movie! You decide what feels right for you! And of course this is all done with the understanding and attitude that you in fact, are always at some level of entrainment/suggestibility! Now your unconscious can easily accept the newer more pleasurable movie always! Hypnotic induction is just that effortless and pleasurable! And with just four little words, you practice what you preach so to speak! After a short time of practicing everyday, just establishing rapport with someone else will take them deeply into the level of entrainment that you are without very much effort!

2nd Key - Deep Rest

Now that you're practicing the 1st Key.  You're practicing what is known in Hypnosis parlance as Up-Time Hypnosis or Wide Awake Hypnosis.  And some of you are fine with just doing that.  However, for those of you that would love to go deeper into healthier states of deep sleep.  This 2nd Key - Deep Rest will take you into a very deep state of sleep or what's known as: "Down-time hypnosis."  Further than you've probably slept before.
I teach my method of Deep Rest to professionals and non-professionals alike to allow them to get 15 to 20 minutes of very deep rest.  Some just continue and sleep the rest of the way through the night.
This 2nd Key should not be done while driving or operating anything dangerous.  And it should not be performed immediately after eating.  Wait at least 30 minutes for your body to digest.  Some of you out there fall asleep after eating anyway and take a nice siesta.
The 2nd Key can be practiced twice a day, once in the morning to squeeze out that last bit of juicy dream time.  And once in the evening before dinner.

The benefits of the 2nd Key - Deep Rest are obvious however, some of you may not realize that when you don't achieve deep states of rest, you build up a "Sleep Debt."  A Sleep Debt is just like any other debt.  It means that you owe yourself a certain amount of rest.  The greater the sleep debt, the greater the dis-ease you'll start to experience.  Your mind is a wonderful device that will demand sleep processing one way or another.  Without the proper amount of sleep, you'll begin to dream during the day.  We call this dreaming during the day neurosis.  If this continues long enough, you'll move into a psychotic state.  Or in other words, you'll move into your day dreaming and not pay rent!

2nd Key - Deep Rest method:

Find a place where you won't be disturbed by phones, email, Facebook, kids, dogs, cats... you get the picture.  If you are disturbed by someone, just inform them that you'll be with them in 15 minutes and excuse yourself.  Don't enter into any further conversation with them.  Your mind is very susceptible to suggestions in deep hypnotic rest.  We'll be using this fact to build upon in the next keys!

You can lay down if you wish to drift off into sleep for the night if you're doing the 2nd Key for sustained sleep.  Otherwise find a comfortable chair that'll allow your back to be straight.

Read the instructions for 2nd Key - Deep Rest method until you've understood it and can do it without looking at the instructions.

Close your eyes and notice that your body has a kind of vibration from the circulation of your blood and pulsing of your heart.  Inhale and exhale gently and slowly without effort.  Return to this Now time and be in the moment.
Imagine that there is a large golden ring above your head like a giant halo.  This Halo glows with a golden light that when used, relaxes whatever part of the body goes through it.
Slowly allow the halo to move down and your head to enter the inside of the ring.  As it slowly continues down past the ears, the nose, the chin, the throat and down toward the shoulders, a very relaxing warm honey like feeling is left behind now covering the head, neck and shoulders.  Let the golden ring continue down past the shoulders, down the chest, down the lower back and belly and down past the hips.  Now moving down past the thighs, the knees, the calf, the ankles and finally down the feet and stopping past the toes.  Mentally visualizing and stating the the number 10 several times and allow the ring to float up and return to it's place just above your head again.

Now for a deeper and healthier state of rest, continue to feel the vibration of your body in this Now time, as you again move the ring down the body as before, entering inside the ring.  Feeling even more rest as it passes down the body slowly.  And completing just beyond the toes as you mentally visualize and state the number 9 several times.  Allow the ring to return above the head more slowly than before.
Continue passing the ring down with you on the inside slower and slower and finally counting down and visualizing to 1 in ever deeper and healthier states of sleep.

Now that you're within a very deep healthy level of rest, start allowing the mental affirmations of:

   "Perfect and pure health..."
   "Perfect and pure wealth..."
   "Perfect and pure rest..."

to every so often, repeat in your thoughts, and let them go.

When 15 or 20 minutes have past and you want to return.  Simply reverse the process.  Allow the ring at the tips of the toes to slowly move up the body with you on the inside of the ring and let the ring be a brilliant glowing white color full of waking energy.  All the way up beyond the head while mentally counting and visualizing the number 1.  And then let the ring float down in front of the toes and move inside the ring again while allowing the bright white light to fill the body with peaceful and invigorating energy.  When the ring is above the head, visualize and mentally state the number 2 several times.  Continue this process until you visualize and state the number 10.

When you're ready, open your eyes just like you do in the morning after a fantastic nights sleep.

The 3rd Key will be along soon...

Thank you for your time,

The 1st Key of In-Power-Mint...

Welcome back to those that have been following my postings.  I will be providing a series of how-to blogs with the purpose of bettering the planet with my small contribution.

Within each person, each and every moment of the day, we re-present ourselves to ourselves.  Some re-present themselves to themselves with thoughts of worry, doubt, despair and pain.  Some relive past glories and accomplishments over and over again.  And still, some long for wealth, glory, power or any of the other base primal urge desires.
However, "In-Power-Mint," as I've coined empowerment, is about using what we've already possess to take us back to our center.  Back to where all creativity for our life is stored.  And taping into that creativity again and moving from that source, to allowing your genius unconscious mind to guide you to what truly makes you content and happy!  What makes us happy and content is unique for each and every person.  In fact, we came here to this life to fulfill a special purpose!  When you were a child, you knew exactly what that purpose was in a very matter of fact way!  Ask any kid, and they'll tell you without blinking, what they're here for!

So, the big question is, how do we get back to that simple place?  And the simple answer is: we are creatures of light and breath!
We are very visual creatures even though we have four other senses.  Even those that have trouble seeing things in their Theater-of-the-Mind (TOTM), can get a feeling of light within.  And, we are also creatures of breath.  It's amazing that the very tools we need to use to return to our center and unlock our own treasures of what makes us content and happy, are part of our everyday lives!
By combining these two elements in different ways, completely changes what's being shown in the TOTM.
People talk about their totems, but this TOTM is something that is part of you.  You don't need to go anywhere except within to experience it.  And you are in total control of your TOTM and always will be!  And this is the very key to the solution of returning to your creative center, which is to take control of your TOTM and start showing thoughts that bring you back to a very creative place.
Because when you're back in your very creative space, you perform wonders!  Life becomes effortless because you are working from your center of power.
And this doesn't just affect you, it effects every person you meet.  You enter like a million watt lightbulb into a room.  Those people that are highly successful and happy, really don't have as much know how as knowledge of themselves.  They know, that they are destine to do something great as you've always felt you were to do as well!
But, we discount ourselves.  We show the "Just settle for what you can get!" movie in our TOTM over and over and over again.  We commit mental suicide of our dreams and aspirations.  The sad part is, we even glory in our self sabotaging behavior to elicit sympathy or empathy to whoever will listen as a substitute to success.

The 1st Key of In-Power-Mint:

Close your eyes after reading the how-to here and try this.  Find a time and place where you won't be disturbed.  As you sit there, bring your attention into this moment.  Bring your Was-ing, that person you were in the past into this moment.  Now bring your Will-be self from the future into this moment.  Now bring Worry-self, Always-self, Never-self and Gotta-self into this moment as well!  These are all bit players in your TOTM.  You're the director of the TOTM.  The owner of the TOTM.
Notice your breath, breathing in and breathing out.  As you breathe in, you draw in energy.  And as you breathe out, you release energy to the world.  If you combine thoughts from your favorite bit players into that in and out breath..., that's how the world sees and experiences you.
So, if your Worry-self has the stage and inner microphone, it puts worry thoughts into your breath stream of in and out.  If your Absolute-Rule-Maker-Gotta-self has the stage, you'll put your rules into the breath stream even if they don't make sense and eventually trap you in your own rules!
Imagine if you will, that you are drawing particles of dazzling light into your breath as you breathe in.  And you are are breathing out these dazzling light particles.  Just like the beginning of a snow storm where the flakes are slowly and gently falling, the dazzling light particles are gathering within you.  These particles contain such joy, such peace, such gentleness and kindness.  Just like in any snowfall, as you breathe, there soon is more and more and more dazzling particles gathering within you.  You begin to glow with the light of kindness and gentleness.  The dazzling light is filling you brighter and brighter and brighter!  Filling your entire body!  Each and every part of your body glows like a million suns from the dazzling light.  As you breathe out, this dazzling light pulses outward in all directions filling the room you're in.  Filling the house or building you're in.
Let this dazzling light glow in the purest of pure blinding brilliance of golden light.  Let it vibrate your body with a feeling of pure peace and completeness.  Let it vibrate you with the feeling of perfect and pure kindness and peaceful contentment.
Some of you might have intuitional flashes of other people faces while you're doing this practice.  Breathe in their dazzling light and then, breath out dazzling light right back to them.  As you do this, their dazzling light will increase into a brilliance of glorious golden light.

Open your eyes after a few deep breaths more of dazzling light and continue exchanging dazzling light with others as they come to mind.  It's your unconscious mind repairing and replacing negative connections to others as you continue breathing this way.  This is how we change the world.  One breath at a time.  One connection at a time.  One exchange of dazzling light at a time with each other.  Listen to your creative intuition now.  It will begin to guide you to where you're suppose to be to fulfill your purpose and achieve your success!

More keys will be given soon!

:D

In-Power-Mint - The Key to yourself

Without the key to a lock, it's almost impossible for most of us to unlock that lock!  What if you locked yourself out of your house or your car.  You'd feel kinda stranded wouldn't you?  You'd have to go to the neighbor and ask to use their phone if you didn't have yours with you.
But, what if your neighbor lock themselves out and everyone in the neighborhood lock themselves out as well?  Some would be trying to break into their house!  Some would be frustrated and just crying that they lock themselves out.  And some would be trying to re-interpret that they're not really locked out, it's the house thats locked itself in or some such nonsense.
And that's how it is with us.  We've locked ourselves out of ourselves.  Some of us are frustrated.  Some are trying to break in.  And some are making up malarkey to convince ourselves that some narrative we've created doesn't require us to find our way back into ourselves.  And that's such a shame, when we're designed from birth to have access to our source of power, wealth, peace and plenty.  Which is at the very core of our being.  But somewhere along the way, we forgot such a simple thing as how to get back into ourselves in a powerful and empowering way.  I like to call it: "In-power-mint."  The mint of where we have our power, wealth, peace and plenty like our own private Fort Knox!  Our store house of infinite prosperity, infinite contentment.

When was the last time you really felt contentment?  Not just that you finally got something done.  But real contentment?  Real bliss without anything artificial to intoxicate you into that state?  No drugs or alcohol.
The ironic thing is.., that access to that in-power-mint moves within you 24-7/365.  In fact, it provides ingenious ways for you to return to yourself that are very natural.  It only requires only one simple and abundant ingredient!   That ingredient is awareness.  Once you start allowing your awareness to focus on the access point, then just like a finely made lock box, you open!  All of the inheritance that's been waiting inside you is available again.  And that awareness is always there.  Beyond form.  Beyond thought and dreams, that awareness is just there!  In this moment, just in this ever present now.  That awareness is available to you to open your lock and give you that splendor!

However, it's not enough to just have that splendor!  What are you going to do with it?  I mean, if you had all the wealth in the world, you could wind up like some of those we read about that just waste it!  There has to be a way to channel that splendor and that wealth to bring you happiness and not spin down into just wasted effort.
Your unconscious now understands better than your conscious mind what truly makes you happy.  It never turns off!  It runs every part of your body and mind.  It never sleeps.  It witnesses everything you do or don't do.  And you don't know, that you already know how to have splendor and pleasure.  The unconscious has been taking note of everything that really makes you feel complete!

You knew what you wanted to do when you were a kid!  It was very simple and clear.  Your unconscious had a plan from the beginning!  You came here with a special mission, a special purpose!  And that mission and that purpose are still inside, locked away just waiting to be activated by you!
Once, you open the lock with your awareness, then your intuition which is the channel of communication to your unconscious, will guide you to exactly what you're suppose to be doing here!  You'll feel like you're on automatic pilot.  The exact right people will be available for you to carry out your purpose in life.  The exact right resources will be available for you to complete yourself easily and effortlessly

The beginning is simple.  The path is already set.  All you have to do now is turn the key.  I'll be writing about the howto  keys to your Kingdom very soon.

Thank you for your time,

Breathing for the relief of all sentient beings

There is a method of meditation/hypnosis that combines breathing, auto-suggestion, expectational hypnosis into a very smooth method of self-evolution.  It is known by the Tibetans as: Tonglen (Pron. Tong-Len).  Tonglen according to Wikipedia:

"Tonglen (Tibetan: གཏོང་ལེན་; Wylie: gtong len) is Tibetan for 'giving and taking' (or, sending and taking), and it refers to a meditation practice found in Tibetan Buddhism.
In the practice, one visualizes taking onto oneself the suffering of others on the in-breath, and on the out-breath giving happiness and success all sentient beings.[1] As such it is a training in altruism. The function of the practice is to:
  • reduce selfish attachment
  • increase a sense of renunciation
  • create positive karma by giving and helping
  • develop loving-kindness and bodhicitta
  • it refers to all of the Six Perfections of giving, ethics, patience, joyous effort, concentration and wisdom, which are the practices of a Bodhisattva.
This practice is summarized in seven points, which are attributed to the great Indian Buddhist teacher Atisha Dipankara Shrijnana, born in 982 CE. They were first written down by Kadampa master Langri Tangpa (1054–1123). The practice became more widely known when Geshe Chekawa Yeshe Dorje (1101–1175) summarized the points in his Seven Points of Training the Mind. This list of mind training (lojong) proverbs or 'slogans' compiled by Chekawa is often referred to as the Atisha Slogans.
H.H. The Dalai Lama, who is said to practise Tonglen every day, has said of the technique: "Whether this meditation really helps others or not, it gives me peace of mind. Then I can be more effective, and the benefit is immense".[2] His Holiness offers a translation of the Eight Verses in his book The Path To Tranquility: Daily Meditations."

"In Tonglen practice, through our compassion, we take on (embrace without resistance) the various sufferings of all beings: their fear, hurt, frustration, pain, anger, guilt, bitterness, loneliness, doubt, rage, and so forth. In return, we give them our loving-kindness, happiness, peace of mind, well-being, healing, and fulfillment.
1) Sit quietly, calm the mind, and center yourself. Reflect on the immense suffering that all beings everywhere experience. Allow their suffering to open your heart and awaken your compassion. You may also choose to invoke the presence of all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and enlightened beings, so that through their inspiration and blessing, compassion may be born in your heart. In this way, you are resting in bodhicitta—the enlightened nature of the mind. Bodhicitta, is an inexhaustible source of purity, generosity, and compassion.
2) Imagine in front of you, as clearly as possible, someone you care for who is suffering. Although this may be more challenging, you may also imagine someone you feel indifferent toward, someone you consider to be an enemy, or those who have hurt you or others. Open yourself to this person's suffering. Allow yourself to feel connected with him or her, aware of their difficulties, pain, and distress. Then, as you feel your heart opening in compassion toward the person, imagine that all of his or her suffering comes out and gathers itself into a mass of hot, black, grimy smoke.
3) Now, visualize breathing in this mass of black smoke, seeing it dissolve into the very core of your self-grasping (ego) at your heart center. There in your heart, it completely destroys all traces of fear and selfishness (self-cherishing) and purifies all of your negative karma.
4) Imagine, now that your fear, self-centeredness and negative karma has been completely destroyed, your enlightened heart (bodhicitta) is fully revealed. As you breathe out, imagine you are sending out the radiance of loving-kindness, compassion, peace, happiness, and well-being to this person. See this brilliant radiance purifying all of their negative karma. Send out any feelings that encourage healing, relaxation, and openness.
5) Continue this "giving and receiving" with each breath for as long as you wish. At the end of your practice, generate a firm inner conviction that this person has been freed of suffering and negative karma and is filled with peace, happiness and well-being. You may also wish to dedicate the merit and virtue of your practice to the benefit of all sentient beings.
Another Excellent Form of Tonglen
Clearly imagine a situation where you have acted badly, one about which you feel shameful or guilty, and which may be difficult to even think about. Then, as you breathe in, opening your heart, accept total responsibility for your actions in that particular situation. Do not judge or try to justify your behavior. Simply acknowledge exactly what you have done wrong and wholeheartedly ask for forgiveness. Now, as you breathe out, send the compassionate radiance of reconciliation, forgiveness, harmony, healing, and understanding. Breathe in the pain and the blame, and breathe out the undoing of harm. Breathe in taking full responsibility, breathe out the compassionate radiance of healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation. This exercise is especially powerful. It may give you the courage to go see the person(s) whom you have wronged and the strength and willingness to talk to them directly and actually ask for forgiveness from the depths of your heart.
Tonglen is a Practice and a Way of Life
Traditionally, we begin by doing Tonglen for someone we care about. However, we can use this practice at any time, either for ourselves or others. Tonglen can be done for those who are ill, those who are dying or have just died, or for those that are in pain of any kind. Tonglen can be done either as a formal meditation practice or right on the spot at any time. For example, if we encounter someone in pain, right on the spot we can begin to breathe in their pain and send out some relief. At any time, when we encounter our own emotional discomfort or suffering, or that of others, we open our heart and fully embrace what we are encountering on our in-breath. Breathing out, we offer the heartfelt radiance of acceptance, loving-kindness, and compassion. This is a practice and a way of life.
Practicing Tonglen on one friend in pain helps us begin the process of gradually widening the circle of our compassion. From there, we can learn to take on the suffering and purify the karma of all beings; giving others our happiness, well-being, joy, and peace of mind. Tonglen practice can extend indefinitely, and gradually, over time, our compassion will expand. We will find that we have a greater ability to be loving and present for ourselves and for others in even the most difficult situations. This is the wonderful goal of Tonglen practice, the path of the compassionate Bodhisattva."

Pema Chodron said it beautifully:
"In order to have compassion for others, we have to have compassion for ourselves.

In particular, to care about other people who are fearful, angry, jealous, overpowered by addictions of all kinds, arrogant, proud, miserly, selfish, mean —you name it— to have compassion and to care for these people, means not to run from the pain of finding these things in ourselves. In fact, one's whole attitude toward pain can change. Instead of fending it off and hiding from it, one could open one's heart and allow oneself to feel that pain, feel it as something that will soften and purify us and make us far more loving and kind."

Tonglen practice is not only for others but for ourselves and the environment as well:
"1. Environmental Tonglen

This consists of sitting and feeling the ''mood and atmosphere'' of our mind. Let's say that the mood we are feeling is unease, and the atmosphere seems dark. We would breathe in this unease and darkness, absorbing it into ourselves. Then, we would breathe out peace and joy, thereby clearing and cleaning the atmosphere and environment of our mind.

2. Self Esteem

The self-esteem exercise begins by imagining ourselves as two people. One is ''whole, compassionate, warm, and loving, like a true friend, really willing to be there for you, responsive and open to you, without ever judging you, whatever your faults or shortcomings.'' The second is the aspect of ourselves that has negative emotions and ideas, the ''victim.'' This is the part that says ''Nobody understands me,'' or feels wronged by people or society.

Again, breathe in, but in this process you are the first person, the whole, compassionate one, breathing in and absorbing all of the other's pain and negativity. And as you breathe out, let the compassionate self send ''healing love, warmth, trust, comfort, confidence, happiness, and joy'' to the other part." -  http://spiritofmaat.com/archive/sep2/rinpoche.htm

I breathe for the release of all beings who suffer or lack as well as those who haven't turned to their true nature of kindness and compassion.

Emotions as the Actor Hypnosis

I love this Hypnotic induction.  Take one of your pet fears or hopes and trance-form it into an actor being interviewed in the movie house of your mind.  Much like how actors are interviewed on TV these days.  And simply start asking question of the actor representing your emotion or event.  Each emotion we have comes from a pure intent.  How it's translated by the emotions and made physical can be what we want or it can be behavior we'd like to change.

Using this simple method will reveal an amazing amount of information.  I had a client that wanted to find out why they habitually told fables.  So we used this method and she revealed that each time she told a fable, it was to build up her image to others and have them accept her.  This all came out from the actor representing the act of lying.
And it's just that simple.  Once you become adept at using this method, you can use it with others to work through problems as well as achieve goals by eliminating blockages.  The only advice I'd give you using this method is not to beat yourself or anyone else up with the information you harvest.  Each of us is trying to make our way in the world the best way we know how.

Have fun with this one!

Thanks for your time

Hypnotheraputic Lie detector methods

There are two actions occurring every moment a person is alive.  They are: Conscious and Unconscious actions.  Rarely are they linked together.  The conscious and unconscious mechanisms of the mind have independent agendas.  The unconscious mechanism is concerned with coordinating the sympathetic, parasympathetic, autonomic and central nervous systems.  Keeping the heart beating, the diaphragm moving to cause respiration and all the fluids of the body in balance.  This a very complicated and demanding job for that part of our mental software!

The conscious mechanism has the ability via the conscious filter mechanism, to delete, distort and generalize information it processes.  In other words, it can fool itself and others!  This is a safety mechanism to deal with events and situations that the conscious mind has no other coping process to employ for that event.  Once that coping process is learned and made functional, the conscious mind has no need to distort, generalize or delete any information for that event.

The unconscious mind doesn't have such a luxury.  It can't for example, try to fool the heart by not firing another impulse to the vagus nerve which controls heart rate, gastrointestinal peristalsis, sweating, and quite a few muscle movements in the mouth, including speech (via the recurrent laryngeal nerve) and keeping the larynx open for breathing (via action of the posterior cricoarytenoid muscle, the only abductor of the vocal folds). It also has some afferent fibers that innervate the inner (canal) portion of the outer ear, via the Auricular branch (also known as Alderman's nerve) and part of the meninges. This explains why a person may cough when tickled on their ear (such as when trying to remove ear wax with a cotton swab).

An interesting idiomatic response occurs as the conscious mind tries to represent something untrue, it tells on the person!  Have you ever noticed someone saying something like: "I didn't have sex with that women..." at the same time shaking their head up and down as if to say Yes when they should be wagging their heads to confirm no they didn't have sex with that women?  Poker players call this action a "Tell."  Whereby you do the opposite body language from what the mouth is saying or a bodily tick that occurs as you do the opposite action.

In hypnotherapy, we use what is known as rapport to move with our clients and thereby try to emulate in ourselves, what our clients are feeling and/or thinking.  Hypnotherapist study rapport to a fine level to both read and induct their clients into deeper states of trance.
Using the idiomatic response, we can have a conversation with both the conscious mechanism and the unconscious mechanism of ones mental software.

Note, there's no such thing in the physical mind as a conscious or subconscious axion or neuron.  There are however, only the connections that those axion and neurons make in composing the software routines we all use everyday.  But, as Dr. Milton Erickson MD points out, there are mechanisms/programs that we use that seem to be individual and distinct components.

These conversations with the conscious and unconscious mind allow hypnotherapist and psychotherapist to determine where Cognitive dissonance is occurring.  Cognitive dissonance is an uncomfortable feeling caused by holding two contradictory ideas simultaneously.  This "holding" resides in the conscious and unconscious mechanisms.
This process of having a conversation with both the conscious and unconscious mind has been demonstrated in the recent discovery of the Reverse Speech methods.  Reverse Speech, as used by David John Oates is explained as; during spoken language production, human speakers subconsciously produce hidden messages that give insight into their inner thoughts.  This new set of methods have been tried on patients in combination with sodium pentothal with remarkable results!  Patients lowered their inhibitions and were compelled to reveal both in forward speech (what we all normally hear in conversation) and reverse speech (i.e., playing the recording backward) hearing hidden message that the unconscious mind wanted to say.  This process has been used on criminal suspects during lie detector sessions with surprising results of the criminal confessing against themselves unaware.  I suspect that methods such as these will eventually be used in background investigations rather than having some poor investigator march all over the world trying to verify someones background.
With the advent of eMRI and the identification of firing patterns of the physical mind being mapped to speech and emotion, it won't be long before we have yet another way to reveal ones thoughts against ones will.

Anodynic Hypnosis - Breath Pacing Rapport technique

There are many ways to hypnotize your clients. Everything from the wildly popular Fractional Relaxation; whereby you lead your client to consciously relax everything step by step from their toes all the way up to the tips of their hair.
Any hypnotist worth their salt also knows, that if you don't establish rapport with your client before the session, you'll have a very rough time relaxing anyone!

Rapport is one of the most important features or characteristics of unconscious human interaction. It is commonality of perspective: being "in sync" with, or being "on the same wavelength" as the person with whom you are talking.
There are a number of techniques that are supposed to be beneficial in building rapport such as: matching your body language (ie, posture, gesture, and so forth); maintaining eye contact; and matching breathing rhythm. Some of these techniques are explored in neuro-linguistic programming.

A classic if unusual example of rapport can be found in the book Uncommon Therapy by Jay Haley, about the psychotherapeutic intervention techniques of Milton Erickson. Erickson developed the ability to enter the world view of his patients and, from that vantage point (having established rapport), he was able to make extremely effective interventions (to help his patients overcome life problems).

Breath Pacing Rapport technique is a very powerful method of combining synchronization of breathing with your client and delivering your suggestions on one or both sides of the breath cycle. And this technique is a favorite of mine! The rules for it's use are very simple.

1. MIrror the posture and respiration of your client. If they are breathing fast, you breathe at the same speed. If they are breathing slow, do the same. As you deliver your suggestions you can slow down or speed up the breathing when you've taken over the lead in pacing your client.
2. If you want to raise the energy and thereby energize your client, speak on the inhalation part of their breath cycle.
3. If you want to relax them, speak on the exhalation part of their cycle.
4. If you want to make a point, pick a point to stare at such as a point on their head or on the wall just behind them and speak on whatever part of the breath cycle you're working with (e.g., raising or relaxing energy).

Now some other points are:

1. If you want to anchor a statement when you're making a point. Just raise the pitch or lower the pitch of your voice. You can alternatively use a louder or softer tone as well to anchor the point. Or snap your fingers, clap your hands! Anything to mark the point!
2. Ask a rhetorical obvious questions: Don't you want to feel more peaceful and fulfilled right now? Of course you do!
3. Provide easy to remember rhymes to your point: Everyday in every way you'll always feel better and better won't you?
4. Dr. Milton Erickson stated that we love anything with "ing" and "ee": This is the most relaxing state you can achieve! You don't have to be push-ee about self-hypnosis.

Conversational Hypnosis uses all of these rules including:

1. Either/or rules,
2. Splitting alternatives,
3. Time and scale choices,
4. Double and Triple TDS.

I'll write more about these in the next article.

Have fun with Breath Pacing Rapport with your friends. Decide before hand what suggests you want to add into your point statements and let the breath deliver them effortlessly and easily.

Thank you for your time to share this,

Adjust your autopilot to keep yourself from crashing

Homeostasis or comfort zone is defined as:
1. The tendency of a system, esp. the physiological system of higher animals, to maintain internal stability, owing to the coordinated response of its parts to any situation or stimulus tending to disturb its normal condition or function.
2. Psychology. A state of psychological equilibrium obtained when tension or a drive has been reduced or eliminated.

And the opposite Allostasis is defined as: The process of achieving stability, or homeostasis, through physiological or behavioral change.

A few years back I watched a documentary on Animal Abuse. One scene in particular struck me more than the rest of the show. There was a female Shepard tie to a post behind a building that had been reported to Animal Control and the Police. When the Police and Animal Control arrive, they saw a badly malnourished dog with patches of fur missing and cuts. Later the Vet determined that she had been kicked and beaten and that ribs were broken as well as teeth.

What struck was that even when the police questioned and arrested the owner, the dog clung to him for comfort. It was determined that he was responsible for the terrible cruelty. Even though this dog had been beaten and starved, she still preferred the monster she knew to the unknown future she faced.
I've known countless people that have similar situations in their lives and yet they stay with the monster that tortures them emotionally or physically. Sometimes both!

Dr. Milton Erickson - The Father of Medical Hypnotherapy once said that we unconsciously determine our future! This doesn't mean that we are predestined to a fate. But that, our future occurs in our subconscious first before it becomes apparent to our conscious mind.
Dr. Albert Ellis - The Father of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) derived what he calls an ABC Model. Or an Activator, Belief and Consequence Model. For ever stimulus/activator there is a belief tied to that stimulus/activator which causes a consequence. As we mostly bumble about, we have a Belief Model of experiences which are compose of those ABCs. The more experiences we have, the stronger the belief until ultimately, it becomes a zealous conviction. This doesn't mean that Belief Model is rational and healthy, it just means we've figured out how to survive sometimes terrible comfort zones.

By taking inventory on ourselves and asking ourselves, do we really want to be in such and such a situation. And then taking further inventory on what activators actually trigger those events. As well as what do we believe we should do or not do about those triggers. We can begin to shape the new consequences we'd like to achieve! We're re-wiring our reactions to a trigger.

Imagine your mind as a Theater. You can control the picture. You can make it clearer or fuzzy. Close up to you or far away. You can be in the movie or just observe the movie. You can change the sound, smell, taste, touch and your gut reaction to the movie at anytime!
Take a situation that you'll like to work past. Examine it frame by frame, process step by process step. Now just simply start playing with the perspectives. Change the angle of view. Make it bigger and smaller. Different colors. Really experiment with it.
Just by taking control of the movie, you've change your reaction to the movie! The more control you give yourself permission to change, the more empowered you become about that event. The more empowered, the more secure you feel. It's the simple changes that have the most profound effect! Metaphorically, we only have to nudge the asteroid to move it off course from hitting our world!

We don't have to just survive an unhealthy comfort zone. We were meant for better things! A better, happier and more healthy life!

Thank you for your time!

Anodynic Hypnosis Buttons

In this fast pace world we love buttons! Press a button and wahlah! A cup of coffee! We like our food fast! Our answers quick and our remedies faster! In fact, very few things these days are sold with the brag: Take this for slow prolonged results unless it's pleasurable and soothing right?

The body and mind are full of buttons if you know where to find them! In fact, we have four basic buttons according to Dr. Albert Ellis - Developer of Cognitive Behavioral Science (CBT)!

Our first button is what he calls the "What-if?" Button. And the answer the mind gives back to this What-if is always something bad! We can totally spin ourselves up into a frenzy just with this one button! In Anodynic Hypnosis we recognize that the What-if button is as dangerous as a loaded gun if not used right. We always use the what-if button to spin up someone into a positive state by using the What-if button for a positive outcome. What-if such and such treated you the way you enjoyed instead of meanly?
The next button is known as the Absolutes-button. It's normally rules that make no sense that we impose on ourselves or other poor innocent bystanders. And we can really paint ourselves and others into a corner using this button. Here again, in Anodynic Hypnosis we only use this button for good as well! We make Absolute-Freedom-buttons or Absolute-Kindness-buttons. Rules such as freedom will absolutely overtake you! If you resist, it will only take longer! Or, you are the kindness you've been looking for in others! Kindness will uncontrollably start leaking out of every pore of you sooner or later!
The next button in this parade is the Rationalization-Button. This button is composed usually of rationalizations for things that just don't have a rational explanation. We chase our tails round and round rather accept something that we know we need to accept. For that, we identify our tail chasing, and then let things be as they are without the need to explain. Everything eventually always comes back to balance.

The most powerful button in our button parade is the I-choose, I-prefer-buttons. Rather than pressing the other three. Next time something is making you uncomfortable. Just say: I choose to do such and such! Or, I prefer to do this instead of that! Give yourself permission to choose and prefer. You'll be very surprised how liberating you'll feel!

Go through your versions of these buttons and think about the absolute rules you make for yourself and ask: Really??? Think about the What-if spirals you enter into and ask yourself: Do you really want to chase your tail that way forever? All of the rationalizations you give yourself for things you may need to just accept. Tell yourself: Even though such and such seems to happen over and over again, I completely and totally accept myself!
And finally, give yourself permission to choose. To prefer something! Or to choose not to do something. Not to prefer something you feel forced on you!

It's never too late to have a happy childhood! Remember, you are the person you've been waiting to become! You are that comfort and kindness you so desperately crave. Just let go and let that kindness you're composed of shine like the birth of a star!

Thank you for your time,

How does one recharge after hypnotizing all day long?

While driving into my consulting gig, I realized that between galaxies there is what is known as the hyper-void or voids. Below the existence of energy is a void as well! So, void gives rise to energy. Energy gives rise to form. Form gives rise to everything we know. And eventually, everything returns to void.

Why am I going on about space between the galaxies and voids and matter in general? Simply because as you see people for hypnotherapy sessions you'll need a center point within yourself to draw calm and energy from!
Between each and every thought, you have the experience of that void at your beck and call! A space you can return to when you deal with the hysterical client. When you deal with the obnoxious client. And where you can lead your clients to in order to lead them to their center point as well!

It's not the deep state of hypnosis that brings a person peace and contentment when they've been down deep in trance. It's the reconnection with the hyper-void within themselves. That stillness and eternity.

Here are three exercises that will recharge you when you've been drained by a constant flood of clients and all their cares and worries wear you out!

The first is known as: Entering the well of yourself. Sit up straight with your hands in your lap. Imagine a small stone falling in tune with each exhalation you have. Down from the inside of the top of your head to deep within a well in the pit of your stomach. How far down does that stone fall before it enters the water at the bottom? You'll have to feel for this! Don't change your way of breathing. Allow your breathing to change on it's own! The space between the next stone will allow you to experience your center point. Your void.

When you're ready to come back; simply follow your inhalations with balloons floating up with each breath. Higher and higher as you feel the joy and freedom of that balloon. The lightness rising higher and higher. When you're ready, just allow your eyes to open with that feeling of lightness and joy still with you.

The nest exercise is called: Space between the beats. Again, sitting up. Allow your unconscious now to notice the space between the beats of the heart. You can even put your hand gently over your heart and feel the pulse of life. Allow your unconscious now to become very aware of the length of the space. You won't be able to change it. Do this for 5 to 10 minutes and something miraculous will happen as you keep allowing your unconscious now to notice the length of the space. Time will stretch out and become extremely slow.
When you're ready to come back. Just bring your mind to the space between your eyebrows and imagine inhaling through that space deeper and deeper. Allow the stillness from that experience to stay with you.

The final exercise is called: Jumping between the keyword. Choose a word that appeals to you that is positive, edifying and loving. Sitting up with your eyes closed, allow that word to repeat itself over and over again randomly. Don't force it. Let your unconscious now notice the space between the pronunciation of the keyword you've chosen. It's the space between the repetition that is the void where all desires and fulfillment comes from. Practice this exercise for 10 to 20 minutes.
At the end of the practice, give yourself an affirmation such as: Perfect and pure peace! Let this sink into the void. You can add whatever you'd like to bring into your life by constructing an affirmation and the desired object or event you'd like to happen. Such as Perfect and pure parking spots. Perfect and pure kindness. Perfect and pure companionship. You get the idea don't you?

Thank you for your time,

Anodynic Hypnosis Suggestion types

In our last blog entry, I discussed Anodynic Hypnotic Conduits or methods of delivery of suggestions. Here, I'd like to discuss the myriad forms of suggestions. To understand those suggestions, you will have to know a little bit about the language that our sensory speaks to us in!
Every creature including humans, has their own sensory language! Each creature has maybe one or two of their senses that are dominant. Some are visually dominant. Some audibly. Still others kinesthetically. A large portion of creatures are olfactory and taste oriented. Meaning, that creature processes the world through that sensory first to understand the world.
Humans are no different! Some of us are visuals, while others are audibles or kinesthetics. There are those rare humans that are olfactory or gastric dominants. The later are normally very wealthy but very odd as well! There are some very rare humans that are synesthesics. They hear what you smell and see what you feel! It's a real gift!

What we are dominated by we reference in our personal sensory dialects. Visuals reference the world with visual language. Audibles, have to hear things a certain way for it to make sense to them. Gastric, have to get a gut feeling about what you're talking about!
Now, the problem that most hypnotist and hypnotherapist experience without this knowledge is that if you speak a different language than the person who listens to it. They won't understand! A hypnotist speaking a visually oriented language to a gastric will not be understood at all! The speaker and the listener will become quickly frustrated! And, no desired hypnotic state will be achieved!

So, our first task is to listen to the other person or determine what type of person we are? What common language do you or the other person use to describe something they believe in?
"Well, I see what you mean! So, give me the whole picture now how suggestions work!"
Tailoring our suggestions to meet this requirement will take us only part of the way to delivering a suggestion that achieves the person we want to hypnotize goals!

Each person tells us how they want to be hypnotized if you only learn to listen to them! Really? We construct the suggestion by learning "how" the subject does something? We're not the slightest bit interested in "why?" We leave that for our Psychologist and Psychiatrist colleagues.
The "how" a person becomes depressed, frustrated, inspired, joyous, empowered and so forth is our only concern.
How do they sit when? What does their face look like? How are they breathing while being in a certain state? Each and every steps of "How" they do something helps us construct the perfect suggestion! Just by changing maybe one step in that chain of how's will change the subject!
Then we simply take them mentally through the steps they've described and make a little turn toward our goal. We can anchor the suggestion by just touching them or snapping our fingers!
"So, you're sitting slumped over and your face looks sad. And you're breathing in sighs and becoming more depressed? "Let's try that again! You're sitting slumped over and suddenly you sit up! You try to make your face look sad, but you're having a hard time taking that face seriously! And, now you're breathing in sighs which turn into little kitten mews! Each time you start feeling you need to put yourself into a depressed state, you'll easily slip into this new way of being depressed!"
We could further tailor this suggestion in the sensory language of the person listening which would have even a more profound effect!

There's a huge amount to be written about on Suggestion Types which I'll try to cover as we explore Anodynic Hypnosis.

Hypnotic Conduits - Transports for Suggestion.

In my last entry, I stated that we'll get into how to put someone into a hypnotic/fixated state to receive suggestions.

A Hypnotic Conduit is a method to allow yourself or someone else to enter a hypnoidal, cataleptic or sonombulistic state of mind; whereby the conscious filter begins to release it's hold on the conscious mind.
Once the conscious filter has moved and thereby reduced it's tendency to generalize, delete or distort information to the subconscious. The subconscious can react quicker to the suggestion presented it.

There's no "correct" hypnotic conduit. There's only conduit methods that work for you! Some of the basic hypnotic conduits are:

1. Authoritative/active,
2. Passive,
3. Permission,
4. Evocative,
5. Presumptive,
6. Interrogative,
7. Positional.
8. Expectational,
9. Post-hypnotic.

Each of these hypnotic conduits have sub-categories unto themselves. I'll briefly touch on each of these. As we progress further, we'll explore these areas in greater depth as well as adding the intermediate and advanced hypnotic conduits and their sub-categories. If you're wondering how many of these conduits you'll have to learn to be a effective hypnotist or hypnotherapist. There are about 27 factorial conduits available. Most practitioners use anywhere from 20 to 30.

Authoritative/active

Authoritative/active hypnotic conduits are just as they sound! They are what I like to call strong arming a person into a hypnodial state! There's a very curious behavior that occurs when the person being hypnotized is overloaded with messages coming from their senses. Dr. George Kappas states that he believes that it's part of our primitive ancestral past.
When large animals would stalk cave dwelling humans, the humans could either fight or flee! We still have those two urges within our primal mind today. The "flee" part doesn't mean running away necessarily. It also means to play dead or faint. Most animals don't scavenge for dead animals. They prefer live! So, when our mind becomes overloaded, it flees the situation by fainting/playing dead.
Strong Arm authoritative/active hypnosis conduit stimulates the person until they overload. And thereby the conscious filter moves out of the way to allow the subconscious mind to immediately react to the primal conscious mind for the next set of instructions. If you were a cave person, that could be: play dead. And when the time was right; run like hell without question or evaluation from the other parts of your brain!

Passive

Passive hypnotic conduits are the opposite of Active/Authoritative Hypnotic Conduits! They are based upon the assumption that we're always moving from one thought to another. We're always giving ourselves suggestions as we transition from thought to thought. And Passive Hypnotic Conduits take advantage of that process.
Advertisers know this form of hypnotic conduits very well! They not only allow the TV to just run the same silly commercial over and over again. Sometimes two or three times in a row in a commercial break. But they also make it as uniquely silly as possible! The whole goal is to suggest without suggesting overtly!
How well does this work? Also most every child on the planet knows a clown that represent a famous fast food chain don't they? Even decades after cigarette commercials have been off the air; someone can say part of a cigarette jingle and most of us can complete the phrase!
The basic reason why passive works so well is due to the fact that every sensory input we receive as humans is re-presented to ourselves in our own sensory language. We translate it so that it totally fits into our personality makeup.

Permission

Some people only need permission to achieve their goal. They have everything they need to be successful. Just someone saying that it's okay for them to do something releases that potential like horses from the starting gate!
Permission is probably one of the more sneaky ways to provide others and ourselves suggestions that we'll act upon. Even if that person you provide the permission to doesn't plan to follow your suggestion immediately, the suggestion like an earwig is burrowing it's way through the conscious mind to cause an action!
Here again, advertisers use this form of passive/aggressive permission conduit to make you react to something you may not think is good for you! Let's think about donuts for a second! Even the suggestion of suggesting the allowance for us to think about donuts makes our mouth water for a moment. You really don't have to say to your client: It's okay for you to think about donuts! You can do as I've just done. Let's think about such and such. I'm in effect giving you permission to think about it and away you go! You'll love conversational hypnosis using this conduit!

Evocative

Evocative is really sneaky stuff! The hypnotist in this case just asks you to invoke a memory or a feeling. Call it to the conscious mind. The first time you felt that deep crush on some person that totally blew you away. Or that first time you drove a car by yourself after passing your drivers license examine. There's endless amount of possibilities.
Now, while you're thinking and remembering those instances, the hypnotist also slides in a suggestion of a goal they'd like you to now associate such as simply touching you on the shoulder as they ask you about the first time you drove by yourself. Which anchors that feeling again to whatever is being associated now. Maybe to overcome the fear of something you didn't think you could overcome! Later we'll use this for our Past Life Regression methods!

Presumptive

Let's assume that you're already in a hypnotic state of some level just reading this blog. And let's presume that you're going to stay in this state until you finish reading these very empowering and pleasurable hypnotic goodies. Kinda feels like Christmas day as a kid opening that toy you didn't know you wanted but were so blown away when you opened the wrapping and found it? Doesn't it?
The hardest part for newbie hypnotist to overcome is the fear of not getting their clients into a hypnotic state! It was really liberating for me as a newbie to understand that everyone is under some level of hypnosis! A great weight was lifted from me with just presumption!
Hypnosis with others becomes effortless once you understand this gem! This is a huge subject!

Interrogative

Probably the most overlooked hypnotic conduit is Interrogative Hypnosis! Interrogative is defined as: Asking a question or being of the nature of a question: an interrogative raising of the eyebrows.

Most people love to give their opinion! They love to answer questions that allow them to talk about themselves. In fact, if you just ask the right questions, most people have the solution they're looking for when they come in for therapy!
Asking a question can transport them from some terrible anxiety they're experiencing to releasing that stress and moving to relief.
Asking a question can transport you from your current state to a meditative one. The transport process opens the conscious filter and allows you to inject a suggestion in the process!
While the mind is doing a Trans-Derivation Search (TDS) it's not busily filtering anything else that's being suggested. Let's consider what would you be doing right now if you could have only one shot at something? And you knew that this one wish was your last wish to have exactly what you wanted! What would that be? How would you feel once you got it? Where would you be? Who would you be with? What would things look like, sound like, feel like around you?
And away you go! You're transported to that state you fixated upon! There's a lot more to this process but we'll explore that later!

Positional

When you're upset! When you're happy! When you are depressed. When you're feeling fine. What positions does your body assume? How do you breathe when you're in those states? What does your face look like? Are you tense or relaxed for each of those states.
Just by changing you breathing and your body position, you change your mind completely! I even have my clients get up and shake off the last positional state and then sit down and assume another one to teach themselves their bodies language!
If you know someone's body language as you work with them you can even have them take a position, adjust them to what you think would make that state even more profound. And like clockwork, they'll enter that state. Then just slide in a suggestion with the positioning process and zoom zoom, they take the suggestion hook line and sinker! This is a whole study in itself! We'll be exploring this as well!

Expectational

Each of the former methods overlay each other! None so much as expectational! I was tempted to just leave this section as it is to demonstrate expectation but that would be too Zen-ful!
Dr. Milton Erickson use to tell his patients to: "Not go into hypnosis yet, I've got a few instructions! So hang on and don't enter the trance state yet! Wait until I touch you on the shoulder!" Then after giving what seemed like very important instructions which were suggestions that would deepen the experience even further as well as make it vastly more pleasurable. He'd finally go up to the person and say: "Now we're ready!" And then touch them on the shoulder! The patient already gave themselves permission to go into a deep pleasurable trance! Their expectations acted as a transport to move them into that state! The touch was only the signal/anchor that allowed them into that state!
Remember, the patient is only re-presenting everything you say to themselves in their own language. You can tell they're listening because some repeat back to you in their personal dialect what they've understood from you! I love it when others repeat what I say back to me as they listen because I know they're processing it! We'll hear more about this in Time-Line conduits.

Post-hypnotic

After we've gone through the ritual of the hypnotic process with a client, we can leave them with suggestions as we're "bringing them out of hypnosis!" Remember, you're always in a state of moving from one thought to another. So, you're always in some level of hypnosis!
The completion of the hypnotic act is just as important as the preparation for putting someone into a hypnotized state!
This is one area that hypnotherapist become lazy in and wonder why they don't get referrals. Why clients stop coming even though they've paid for 5 sessions and only attend 3. Making some excuse that doesn't hold water why they don't want to come anymore.
Using the conduits I've mentioned so far, you need to develop a habit of employing them as part of your closing. The next time you come in for your session I have something special for you that I don't use with many clients. However, I feel that you're very intelligent and need something to make your level instead of using something of a lower caliber. It's okay now for you to feel average in yourself. A lot of clients feel that way in their 1st session. Maybe in two days, sometimes three, it hit's you really hard what you've experience here today!
I'm going to give you something that I don't often provide clients is an empowerment exercise that blah blah blah. Now, I'd like you to notice that you're breathing has increased and you're feeling a lot more refreshed and clam. And you're drive home will be very easy to be alert and awake. In fact, every time you drive, you immediately wake up!

Hi there! Welcome back! In our next episode, we'll start to explore the numerous types of suggestions we can use!
